DISCOVERY AND UNIQUE ENVIRONMENT
In 1980, some American NASA researchers accidentally discovered a green-blue algae that grew completely spontaneously in an unspoiled lake (Upper Klamath Lake, Oregon, USA), continuously enriched by volcanic deposits that make it the planet’s largest biomass producer: over 10 million tons of “food” every summer.
Nestled in a beautiful area that has always been protected from human intervention and surrounded by extinct volcanoes, from which watercourses constantly deposit volcanic materials on its bottom, Upper Klamath is today the lake with the highest mineralization rate in the world.
Thanks to the vitality and richness of this primordial environment, the Klamath microalgae, or AFA (botanical name Aphanizomenon flos-aquae), was able to develop perfectly over millennia of maturation.
PRIMORDIAL ORIGIN AND EXCEPTIONAL NUTRITIONAL PROPERTIES
Because of its wild and primordial nature, the properties of Klamath are truly exceptional.
It possesses an absolutely unique nutritional profile. In particular:
• High amounts of chlorophyll, a pigment with detoxifying and protective properties;
• A complete and balanced spectrum of 13 vitamins, one of the highest sources of B-group vitamins and vitamin K (essential for bone health). It contains the highest concentration of bioavailable vitamin B12, crucial for energy, nervous system, and cardiovascular health;
• Over 70 minerals, including macrominerals (iron, calcium, etc.) and trace elements (boron, chromium, vanadium, etc.) in a fully bioavailable organic form;
• Essential fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6 in an optimal ratio;
• High quantity and quality of beta-carotene associated with 14 other carotenoids, forming what is probably the widest spectrum of antioxidant substances;
• Complete proteins: the only food containing all 20 amino acids in fully bioavailable proportions;
• Rich in phycocyanins (10–15% of dry weight), one of the most powerful natural anti-inflammatory substances;
• Contains phenylethylamine, a molecule with potent cognitive and neurological stimulating effects, as well as immunomodulatory and analgesic properties;
• Cell wall free of cellulose, making it completely digestible and, thanks to the optimal proportions of all its nutrients, fully assimilable.
The microalgae is dried using a method that preserves all its nutrients.
